CUTE FILM ALERT: Song of the Sea

Song of the Sea, a film about mythological creatures called selkies. For people who don't know what those are: they are creatures who are known to live as seals in the sea, but shed their skin on land and become human. Selkies are found in Scottish, Irish and Faroese folklore. Pretty cool, right?

Now, what's special about this film for me is that Song of the Sea is a traditionally animated film, which means everything is drawn by hand(!). That is quiet something isn't it? The film's length is one hour and a half. Imagine how long it must have taken to draw everything! That one aspect should convince you into watching Song of the Sea!

The film's main character is Saoirse, a six-year old (pretty cool name, huh?!) who is a selkie. She must sing the selkie-song to save her species! She has a tough road ahead; will she make it and save the remaining selkies?

I could blabber on and on about it, but it all comes to this: Saoirse and her Song of the Sea are just too adorable and cute! You should not miss out on it!
